Chanelle Armstrong

Kia ora! I’m Chanelle, and I’m standing in the 2025 Whangarei District Council elections because I love this place, and more importantly, I love its people.
 

You come to the Hikurangi-Coastal Ward for the whenua and moana, the coastlines, the rural lifestyle, the school with a dolphin bell, but you stay for the people. It’s the book club aunties, the kids on bikes being fed at someone else’s house, the “hello darling” from the dairy owner, the pot of hot chips on the rugby sideline.
 

Our community is built on connection. That’s the real reason many of us choose to stay.
 

Times are tough. Rates are rising, and we need smart, sustainable decisions that keep our rural and coastal communities strong without putting more pressure on everyday whānau. I want to serve this community with everything I’ve got, championing smarter spending, sustainable planning, and opportunities that bring us together.
